buddies

Gotta love when these two get together.  They move pretty fast but every now and then they take a second to really look at each other and smile and giggle.  Its joyful to watch their friendship grow.

watermelon

Nothing goes better with summer than watermelon.  Miles has tried it a few times but this was his first experience eating a slice right off the rind.  He loved it.  It was a little tricky figuring out which parts of the watermelon taste good and which parts not so much.

story time

Miles loves books.  He loves to look at them on his own, but he especially loves when we read him books.  He loves his blankie and he loves his paci, but he only gets it during night time and nap time.  Here is a pre nap story time with Mom.  All snuggled up and learning about opposites.  The truth is I love story time, too!  Its one of my favorite things to do with Miles.

walker

Walkers are way more fun when you can run with them!

favorite things

Miles' favorite thing to do by far is RUN!  He loves to run.  He runs around more than he plays with toys.  A second favorite is climbing on things.  His love of climbing gave him the chance to discover a new favorite thing... making fart noises on the ottoman.

twins

We hit up our first twins game of the season.  The Novak family all went out to Target field for a family baseball day.  Miles loved being at the ballpark.  He was able to hold down his seat for about 5 minutes and then it was time to relocate.  Wether it was a new seat, or walk around the stands, he was on the go for most of the game.  Thankfully we were with our family and we all took turns keeping him busy.  Here's a shot of him and his cousins, rocking the twins gear and actually sitting down!

haircut

Miles got his first haircut!  It was a joint effort.  We figured our best shot at cutting the little guys hair was while he happily played in the bath tub.  It was a joint effort.  Dad on the camera and distraction duties, and Mom on the scissors.  Even though he was busy in the tub he was definitely bothered by our attempts to cut his hair.  We worked quickly, and really there was so little hair to cut, that it was a relative success.  It was more of a trim, but a huge event none the less.  Although it was sad to see his baby curls go, now there is a lot less tangles and bed head in the morning.  And yes, I saved a few of those baby curls.  They are tied with a piece of yarn and tucked into a pocket in his baby book.

shadow

Discovering his shadow!  I finally figured out how to upload a video, and this one was too cute to pass up.  Also this video is shocking when you see the bare garden beds.  They are all overgrown and bursting with blooms at the moment :) This video is from mid may, shortly after mothers day.  Amazing how much the garden grew, but also how much Miles has grown.  Hearing his voice in this video is crazy, now he is talking so much and repeating nearly any word you give him.  It must be the sunshine!
