string bean

Miles had his 9 month check up this week and he is quite the little string bean.  Long and lean, the nurse had to measure him twice because she said he was "off the charts."  He is 30 1/2 inches long, and 22 pounds.  He loves to crawl all around the house exploring and standing where every he can pull himself up.  He follows the cats around and occasionally gets a hold of one.  He has 3 teeth in and is working on his fourth one.  This week he has made two attempts at standing up with out hanging on to anything, I suspect he'll be walking soon.  His smile is adorable and he keeps us busy and laughing!

family reunion

We enjoyed another beautiful July weekend with the Del Greco family up on the Iron Range.  The family made the yearly trip to Virginia, MN for the annual Del Greco reunion.  The family grows every year with new babies, and weddings.  This year Miles was a new addition as well as his cousins Liam, and Katie Bell.  We were also able to celebrate the addition of Jenny's husband Olin.  We were also able to grab a four generation photo with Great Grandfather Frank Del Greco, Nonna Bonnie, Mike, and Miles.

8 months

July was a big month for Miles.  He learned to crawl.  He got his first tooth, and he is working on his second.  He crawls around very fast and loves being on the go checking things out!  He is getting pretty good at standing next to furniture, although he has a fair share of wipe outs.  August is here and Miles is loving hanging out in our back yard.  What a big guy, 8 months old!

down on the farm

We love to spend time at grandma and grandpa's farm.  We get to see the horses and cows.  Play with cousins and get lots of lovin from the grandfolks.  The best!  Miles had so much fun taking wagon rides, watching the animals and dogs and cats.  He even got a sink bath, and just check out how many hands it takes to clean one baby Miles.  He sure is lucky to have so many people who love him!

four generations

We were able to spend some time with Grandpa Clay's side of the family.  We took the opportunity to get a four generation photo.  Great Grandmother Beth, Grandpa Clay, Kalli, and baby Miles.

first swim

Miles took his first swim in the lake over the fourth of July.  He didn't care for it all that much.  Although jumping right in waist deep was a pretty bold step.  He was happy to be in the sun and watch his cousins jump and splash in the lake.  His second attempt at swimming in the lake was out at lake Lida at uncle Lee's cabin.  He was a little more comfortable with the added safety of the floaty tube, but definitely not too thrilled.  One thing he did like was just sitting on the dock steps and splashing his toes.
